Recorders
The School District provides each 3rd grade student their own recorder, however these recorders will stay at school and not go home. At the end of each year they are washed and reused the following year. Recorders are inexpensive and we encourage all students to purchase their own recorders so that they can practice at home. Why Recorders?
The soprano recorder acts as a great stepping stone between using our singing voices and the band instruments students play in 4th grade. Recorders will help to develop fine motor skills & breathing techniques. When using these two skills in tandem they can be applied to our music literacy proficiencies. Recorders are fairly inexpensive so it easy for the School District to afford recorders for each student.
